Day 01- Airport / Colombo

Ayubowan” On arrival at the recently refurbished Modern and State of the art International Airport, you will be blessed to get your first taste of warm Sri Lankan hospitality; Representative from “The Wanderlust Vacations” will welcome you at the Airport  & transfer clients to Colombo.

Colombo our Sea Port Capital, which is a town totally fascinating in its variety. Old Dutch Churches and other evidence of the colonial past, Hindu and Buddhist Temples with murals and statues give a glimpse of history and architecture. Sightseeing includes:

  • Fort - the heart of the city of Colombo.
  • Pettah - the busy Bazaar area and Market Place.
  • Gangarama Buddhist Temple.
  • Town Hall and Cinnamon Gardens.
  • Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall.
  • New Parliamentary Complex.
  • The Zoological Gardens.

Day  02  Colombo  /  Pinnawala  /     Sigiriya

 
   

After breakfast depart to Sigiriya

On the way visit Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage where an orphanage was started in 1975 to  house

the abandoned and the wounded elephants. The number of elephants has increased to more than 65 now; including Baby Elephants brought from various parts, as well as the 23     babies born, as a result of the captive breeding program. Participate for Sigirya Village tour plus lunch Later visit Sigiriya Rock Fortress.

Sigiriya is home to the 5th Century „Fortress in the Sky” which is perhaps the most fantastic single

wonder of the Island. It is also known as Lion Rock because of the huge lion that  used to stand at the entrance to the fortress. Within it triple-moated defense the huge rock rises almost    to    a   sheer height of 500ft.

On its summit are the foundations of what was once a great and sumptuous palace and gardens complete with swimming pool. On one of the stairways the only known ancient work of Sinhala secular painting survived in the form of frescoes of life sized damsels in all the freshness and delicacy of their original color.

Day 03- Sigiriya / Dambulla / Kandy

 
   

After breakfast depart to Kandy On the way visit Dambulla

Dambulla is a vast isolated rock mass  500ft high and a mile around the base. Here is found the famous Rock Temple dating to the First Century BC. The caves of Dambulla sheltered the King Walagamba during his 14 years of exile from Anuradhapura. When he regained the  throne he built the most magnificent of Rock Temples to be found on the Island. There are images of deities associated  with

Buddhism all around. The frescoes on the ceiling date back to the 15th - 18th Centuries.

Later proceed to Kandy

Kandy- This lovely city is the erstwhile Hill Capital and last stronghold of the Sinhala Kings. Encircled by hills, with a tranquil lake in its centre, it is the site of the renowned "Temple of the Tooth". Place of interest are the Peradeniya Botanical Gardens and the Mahaweli Diversion Project in their impressive settings. Spice Garden dot the outskirts of

Kandy along with handicraft centers and the market-place is a hub of activity. Kandy retains an aura  of grandeur which time has not effaced.

Later proceed to City tour of Kandy, including Upper Lake Drive, Market Square, Arts & Crafts Centre, and Gem Museum.

Evening witness a Cultural  dance performance featuring various dance types of Sri Lanka- Duration (45 minutes – 01hour)

Day 04- Kandy / Nuwara Eliya

 
   

After breakfast at hotel

Visit the Peradeniya Royal Botanical Gardens- 147 acres in extent; Started in 1374 as a pleasure garden of the Kings of Gampola and Kandy. There are more than 5,000 species of trees, plants and creepers. Some rare and endemic as well as flora from the tropical world are found in the gardens. Spice Garden and Orchid House are popular with tourists.

Depart to Nuwara Eliya

En route visit a Tea Factory and a Plantation to witness the manufacturing process of world famous

"Ceylon Tea" and to taste a pure unblended cup of factory fresh tea before being sent to the Tea Auctions in Colombo leading to Export.

Sightseeing in the city- the important places being the Seetha Eliya, Victoria Park, Gregory Lake, Golf Course and Market etc

Day 05- Nuwara Eliya / Bentota

 
   

After breakfast proceed to Bentota Check into the hotel

Free day in the beach

Clients can participate for water sports such as diving, snorkeling, surfing and etc

Day 06- Bentota

 
   

After breakfast proceed to a Galle

City tour in Galle - This southern seaport was the 17th Century centre of Dutch rule. The town is full

of Dutch monuments, ramparts and forts, to bear witness to this fact. Galle is also famous for its  ebony carving and delicate handmade lace. It has a pleasant atmosphere and a fine view of the sea.

Later depart for Madu River Boat Ride, Stilt fishing and turtle hatchery Free day in the beach

Clients can participate for water sports such as diving, snorkeling, surfing and etc

Return to the hotel

Dinner & overnight at Bentota

 

Day 07- Bentota / Airport

Transfer clients to the Airport for Departure
